How Crash Works — The Math You Need to Know
CS2 crash is simple: a multiplier starts at 1.00x and climbs. You bet before the round, watch the multiplier rise, and cash out before it crashes. Cash out in time — you win your bet × multiplier. Crash before you cash out — you lose everything.
What most guides skip: the crash point is determined before the round starts, using a provably fair algorithm. The site knows exactly when it will crash when the round begins. You don't. Auto-cashout doesn't help you predict crash — it just removes emotion from the timing decision.
The house edge in crash is typically 1-4% depending on the site — lower than roulette (6.67%) but still always in the house's favour. Over 1000 rounds at 3% house edge, betting $1 flat, you'd expect to lose roughly $30. That's the cost of playing. Strategy is about stretching that $30 loss over as many rounds as possible.
The multiplier climbs from 1x until it randomly crashes. Auto-cashout at 2x exits before the crash — no emotion involved.

This is the most useful thing in this guide. Every multiplier has a known probability of being reached in any given round. These numbers come from the provably fair math — they're not estimates.

⚠️ The math works both ways. 2x hits ~50% of rounds — which means it misses ~50% too. In a bad streak you can lose 8-10 rounds in a row at 2x. This happens more often than people expect. Plan for it before you start, not during.
Strategy 1 — Auto-Cashout (Recommended)
Set auto-cashout before the round starts and walk away from the screen. This is the only strategy that fully removes emotion — which is the biggest single cause of losing sessions.
In our testing on Duelbits over 200 rounds at 2x auto-cashout: we won 103, lost 97. Expected. Balance went from $100 to $89 — roughly matching the 3% house edge over 200 rounds. No catastrophic loss streaks because we never held longer hoping for higher.
The sweet spot: 1.65x is an underrated target — hits about 61% of rounds, gives a better return per win than 1.5x, and doesn't drain you as fast as 2x in losing streaks. Try it.
Strategy 2 — Flat Betting
Bet the same amount every round — 1-5% of your balance — and cash out manually or with auto-cashout. No adjustments after wins or losses. No chasing.
This is the most honest strategy because it exposes exactly how much the house edge costs you without multiplying losses through bet sizing errors. If you're playing at $0.50 flat with a 3% house edge, you're paying $0.015 per round on average. 200 rounds = $3 expected loss. You know the cost upfront.
The rule we use: never bet more than 2% of your session balance per round. $50 session = max $1 bet. This means even a 20-round losing streak doesn't wipe you out.
Strategy 3 — Martingale (Danger Zone)
Martingale: start with $1, double after each loss. The idea is that when you eventually win, you recover all previous losses plus $1 profit. It sounds logical. Here's what a losing streak actually looks like:

An 8-round losing streak at 2x cashout happens roughly 0.4% of the time — once every ~250 sessions. In our testing across 500 sessions, we hit it twice. Both times wiped the Martingale balance completely.
The deeper problem: losing streaks of 10-12 rounds happen regularly in crash because crash can hit 1.01x multiple times consecutively. One site told us their record was 14 consecutive rounds crashing below 1.2x. Martingale is a time bomb.
🔴 The real Martingale problem: You're risking $128 on round 8 to win back $1 profit. That's not a strategy — that's desperation math. The one time it fails wipes out 127 "successful" Martingale sessions. The expected value is identical to flat betting, but the variance is catastrophic.
Strategy 4 — Reverse Martingale
The opposite of Martingale — you double after wins, reset to base bet after losses. Because you're only doubling money you've won, losing streaks don't compound. The worst case is losing your base bet each time.
The problem: you need a win streak to build up, then you need to know when to stop. Most players don't stop. They double 4-5 times in a row and then lose the whole stack on round 6. Set a hard rule — e.g. "I stop doubling after 3 wins in a row and take the profit." Without that rule, Reverse Martingale just delays the same emotional problem.
What Doesn't Work — Patterns, Prediction, Timing
These are the things that feel logical but don't hold up:
"The multiplier is due a big hit"
Gambler's fallacy. Each round is independent. The crash point is determined fresh every round by the provably fair algorithm. 10 consecutive crashes below 1.5x has zero effect on round 11. The probability resets completely.
"Watch the history and bet when it's been low for a while"
Same problem. Historical multipliers tell you nothing about future ones. A site showing the last 20 rounds of history is giving you pattern-recognition bait. The algorithm doesn't care what happened before.
"AI prediction tools"
Several sites in 2026 now offer "AI-powered prediction tools" that claim to analyze historical patterns and suggest optimal cashout points. These are marketing. The crash point is cryptographically determined before the round starts — no amount of historical analysis can predict it. If the tool worked, the site would shut it down instantly.
"Manual cashout timing"
Some players believe they can "feel" when a crash is coming and cash out at the right moment. This is pure hindsight bias. When you time it right you remember it. When you don't, you blame bad luck.
